Craigielaw well placed in promotion race

Posted by Torquil McInroy on Dec 25 2016 at 04:00PM PST in 2019-20

During the late '00's Craigielaw were Dunbar's principle rivals in the league and they eventually captured the title in 2009. However they were relegated the following season and haven't returned to the top flight since. Now they look set for promotion after dismissing nearest challengers Musselburgh 5-0 before the Christmas break, and if they can take something from their upcoming trip to Tantallon on 8th January they will surely be favourites for the 2nd Division title.

But Musselburgh can not be written off.  Their latest defeat was a setback but they should win at Musselburgh Old on the 8th and they still have a game in hand.

Tantallon battled hard to come away from Glen with a share of the spoils in their last match before the break. That result may prove to be decisive in the race for the third promotion spot, but both Glen and Gifford still have a chance.
