Back to Back League Titles for Gullane

Posted by Torquil McInroy on Feb 09 2015 at 04:00PM PST in 2019-20

Congratulations to Gullane who have an unassailable 3-point lead at the top of the table following their win on Sunday at Dunbar.

It was a fitting way for the defending champions to get over the line, gaining revenge for their defeat to the same opponents last November - the only time they've lost in two seasons !

Rob Jack and his boys can now turn their attentions to their Cup defence, and they're next in action on Sunday 22nd away to Gifford or Tantallon.  Can anyone stop the Gullane machine ??!

There was satisfaction for Musselburgh too.  They played well to win at North Berwick following a setback two weeks earlier, and in doing so secured their place in the top flight.  Second place will be the prize for Alex Chisholm's team if they can avoid defeat at Royal Musselburgh on 1st March.

Glen finally succumbed to relegation when they could only draw with Royal Musselburgh, but the scoreline was enough to put Royal into the safety zone too.

So that leaves North Berwick and Dunbar in a scrap to avoid the second relegation spot.  These two meet in a fortnight when North Berwick are at home.  The winner survives but if they can't be separated Dunbar will edge it on points difference.  All to play for..
