Gullane on top at Division 1 half way stage

Posted by Torquil McInroy on Nov 18 2017 at 04:00PM PST in 2019-20

A 3-2 home win over title challengers Craigielaw was enough to move defending champions Gullane back to top spot in Division 1 as the league season reached it's half way mark.

Robert Jack's side are on course for an unprecendented fifth league title in a row, but will have to retain their form in the second half of the season if they are to achieve their goal.

Second placed North Berwick weren't in action on Sunday, and they sit alongside Craigielaw just two points off the pace. These two sides face each other in two weeks' time when North Berwick will be looking to avenge a narrow defeat at Craigielaw back in early October. Royal Musselburgh started the season slowly, but since two early defeats they have got back on track and are undoubtedly a factor in the title race. Next up for them is a trip to Gullane on 3rd December.

Meanwhile Tantallon got off the mark with a win at home to Musselburgh.
