Gullane’s home win on Sunday over Tantallon restored a familiar look to the league table.

The defending champions inflicted a first defeat of the season on their guests, and in doing so leap-frogged them to move top of the pile at the season’s half-way point. But John Clelland’s team had to work for their victory with the bottom two ties both going to the final green before the home pairs could claim their points.

The reverse leaves Tantallon under pressure to keep up their challenge with a tricky trip to Craigielaw next up.  Meanwhile Gullane can look forward to four more home matches before they travel to Tantallon in March for what may yet be the title decider.
